Internationality
Anika (rhymes with Monica) is a native Rhode Islander with strong roots to her family origins in Germany and Italy. She lives much of the year in Europe, but spends the wedding season in Rhode Island to carry out celebrations across New England. She’s trilingual and skilled at crafting multicultural and multilingual gatherings. She offers wedding planning services in New England and Europe, primarily in Germany, France, and Italy.
Hospitality
Anika grew up living and breathing hospitality in her grandparents' hotel, where her first jobs as a little girl included rolling change and windexing the glass front door, so the entryway was always spotless! The importance of high quality presentation and relationship building were only further ingrained in Anika over the 10 years she worked in hospitality, catering, and as an assistant to wedding planner Jennifer Brinton.
Sustainability
For as long as she can remember, Anika has been passionate about doing good for the environment, while not compromising on quality. It is her mission to create stylish, sophisticated, and eco-friendly events, without breaking the bank. Anika has a master’s degree in sustainable development and several years of work and volunteer experience reducing waste and emissions across different sectors.

an expert in the industry
with 21 years of experience planning coastal weddings in Connecticut and Rhode Island. In the time that she owned Grace Weddings and Event Design, she crafted weddings of all kinds, on beaches, and at country clubs, vineyards, and family homes. She has mentored Anika since a young age and now provides support to Maris Events. Her keen eye for detail, robust vendor networks, and decades of local experience make her invaluable for creating high quality and sophisticated events.
